Diversity Mapping
Identifying your institution's level of diversity/inclusion achievement
Halualani & Associates has uniquely created an important process of inquiry known as "diversity mapping" for universities and colleges to analyze their progress on diversity, inclusion, and equity achievement. To date, Halualani & Associates has provided diversity mappings/analyses for 52 institutions.
Created in 2007, diversity mapping refers to a process of plotting out and analyzing (via 40+ insight layers) all of the current diversity efforts, programs, and or courses as well as the diversity strategy, diversity infrastructure, and diversity alignment at your institution. Similar to a SWOT analysis but nuanced for a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion, this unique type of mapping will enable your institution to take stock of what has already been done (and can therefore be leveraged – cost effectively) and what still remains to be done (gaps, empty zones, "opportunities for growth."). Over the last eleven years, our firm has offered a varied range of diversity mappings (diversity-focused mapping, comprehensive diversity mapping, diversity theme mapping, diversity curricular mapping).
**As of 2020, Dr. Halualani will ONLY conduct focused or overview diversity mappings remotely (and without any physical travel). These focused or overview diversity mappings are provided at a more cost-effective price point.
We feature rigorous analytical layers to assess diversity, equity, & inclusion landscapes (all created by Dr. R. Tamiko Halualani), such as:
- Diversity Infrastructure Focus Scale (the "Core")
- Diversity Strategy Taxonomy (the "Guiding Focus")
- Diversity Change Order
- Diversity Alignment Scale
- Diversity-Engagement Learning Taxonomy Assessment+ (DELTA+)
- Diversity-Focused Team Classifications (DFTC)
- Affinity+: Affinity Groups' Key Elements Schemata
- Identity Spaces & Cultural Centers: Key Elements Schemata

Diversity Benchmarking
Comparing an Institution's Positioning in Terms of Diversity Strategies, Plans, & Efforts
Through its own dynamic database of diversity strategies, plans, & efforts at higher educational institutions in the U.S., Halualani & Associates provides a benchmarking service for campuses to compare their own diversity efforts and strategies in relation to those of other comparable institutions. In this way, diversity leaders can identify their own positioning in relation to diversity, equity, and inclusion progress and receive key insights for specific categories in relation to diversity work.

Evaluation of Your Institution's General Education Diversity Program
What is the Engagement Level of Your General Education Diversity Program?
Our team, led by an experienced professor in General Education diversity course development, coordination, and instruction, can help you gauge the engagement and effectiveness level of your General Education Diversity Program/Requirement. Let us examine all of your GE diversity course content, student learning objectives, pedagogical techniques, assessment protocols, student learning outcome measures, constructions of diversity and culture, and most commonly offered articulations of diversity (as determined through your frequent course offerings and student capacity). We employ several key algorithms for each aspect of your General Education diversity program.
